The Lower Makefield-Yardley Democratic Committee is the official organization of the Democratic Party representing registered Democrats residing in Lower Makefield Township (LMT) or Yardley Borough (YB). The Lower Makefield-Yardley Democratic Committee is dedicated to promoting policies that ensure a high quality of life in our community and openness in our government at every level. We do so by supporting candidates for office who share our principles and values, and by engaging in issue advocacy and serving in the community.
Involvement starts with knowledge. Find out about your local government by attending (or viewing online or on cable TV) the government meetings and by participating in our monthly Committee meetings (3rd Thursday of each month at the Lower Makefield Township Building, 1100 Edgewood Rd.)* and our other activities.
Lower Makefield Township is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors. Currently, all five members of the Board are Democrats. We are dedicated to maintaining our majority on the Board, and working to continually improve the high quality of life in our community. The Board of Supervisors meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at the Township Building, 1100 Edgewood Road.
Yardley Borough is governed by a Mayor and a seven-member Council. Six of the current Council members are Democrats, and we are dedicated to maintaining our majority on the Council, and working to continually improve the high quality of life in our community. Council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at the Borough Hall, 56 South Main Street, Yardley.
Pennsbury School District is a highly-regarded district with a nine-member Board of School Directors. All nine members are Democrats, and they were elected to enhance the stability and efficiency of our school system, while controlling costs, thereby providing quality education for students and maintaining property values for the District’s homeowners. The School Board meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month.
