Lower Makefield/Yardley Democratic Committee

The Lower Makefield/Yardley Democratic Committee is dedicated to promoting policies that ensure a high quality of life in our community and openness in our government at every level. We do so by supporting candidates for office who share our principles and values, and by engaging in issue advocacy and serving in the community.

Involvement starts with knowledge. Find out about your local government by attending (or viewing online or on cable TV) the government meetings and by participating in our monthly Club meetings (3rd Thursday of each month at the Township Building) and our other activities.

Lower Makefield Township is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors. Democrats currently have two members on the board, and we will make an impact spotlighting important issues. We are dedicated to gaining greater representation on this board, and working to maintain and improve the high quality of life in our community. The Board of Supervisors meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at the Township Building, 1100 Edgewood Road, Yardley.

Yardley Borough is governed by a Mayor and a seven-member Council. All of the current Council members are Democrats. Council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at the Borough Hall, Main Street, Yardley.

Pennsbury School District is a highly-regarded district with a nine-member Board of School Directors. All nine members are Democrats, and they have chosen a positive, cooperative approach to ensure the stability and efficiency of our school system, while controlling costs, thereby maintaining high property values. The School Board meets the 1st and 2nd Thursdays of each month.

For more information on each of these governing bodies, see the links to their websites on our Links page.

Primary and General Elections are held each year, and it is vital that all eligible voters inform themselves about the candidates and issues and then VOTE in every election! There will be several crucial elections in 2018, including for Pennsylvania Governor, U.S. Senator, U.S Congressman (PA-08), and State Senator and State Representative.  If we are to reclaim our power, it is essential to re-elect Governor Tom Wolf, Senator Bob Casey, and Rep. Perry Warren, and to flip our Congressional and State Senate seats.

You can find more information about the issues and the candidates on this site and on our Facebook page. To join our Club and our email list, or to volunteer, please submit the form on the Contact Us page or email us at lmt.yardley.dems@gmail.com.

We encourage you to contact one of our club officers or one of your precinct’s elected committee people if you have any questions, would like to introduce yourself or would like to get more involved. If you need to register to vote or change or update your registration, please visit www.votesPA.com.
