“Nothing’s riding on this except the, uh, First Amendment to the Constitution, freedom of the press and maybe the future of the country.”
– Jason Robards as Washington Post Executive Editor Ben Bradlee in All the President’s Men, 1976.
Dear Fellow Democrats and Other Like-Minded Voters:
Where will you be on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2018? This will, so far, be the most consequential election of our lifetimes. Which way it goes depends on if and how each of us votes!
Some past local elections have been decided by just a couple of votes per precinct! Turnout is lower in “off-year” elections, so every single vote will count even more this year.
Had enough of the chaos, corruption and cruelty of the Trump/GOP administration, and the regressive Republican-controlled state legislature that refuses to compromise?
There are just 6 offices on the ballot, but they are all critical to end the one-party monopoly over the entire Federal government, and to crack the extreme partisan gridlock in Harrisburg.
This is our chance to elect or re-elect well-qualified, experienced and reasonable representatives who will work for our benefit, not for special interests. YOUR VOTE can be the difference to ensure that our Democratic candidates win:
U.S. SENATOR: Sen. Bob Casey, Jr.
GOVERNOR: Gov. Tom Wolf
LT. GOVERNOR: John Fetterman
U.S. CONGRESS (PA-01): Scott Wallace
STATE SENATOR: Steve Santarsiero
STATE REPRESENTATIVE: Rep. Perry Warren
Their opponents are spreading negative, false, and fear-mongering ads, mailers, and social media/internet trolling against our candidates, and it will only get worse.
Get the facts yourself at the above listed websites and check the voter guides when provided by the League of Women Voters, local news media, and other verified legitimate organizations.
You can check your current voter registration status at votespa.com. Recent registrations and changes/updates may not be reflected immediately.
Make your plan now to vote on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6. Not voting or voting for a so-called “3rd party” only keeps Republicans in power!
If you won’t be able to vote in person, apply for an Absentee Ballot now by printing the application form at votespa.com or buckscounty.org. The application form must be received by the Board of Elections no later than Tuesday, October 30. After you receive the ballot, it must be received at the Board by Friday, November 2 – postmarks do not count, so mail your ballot as soon as possible before the deadline to be sure your vote is counted!
If you need an absentee application form, please contact us.
Democrats have the advantage in voter registration, but that doesn’t matter if we don’t all VOTE STRAIGHT DEMOCRATIC on Tuesday, November 6th. Thank you!
Karen Vander Laan,
Chair, Lower Makefield/Yardley Democratic Committee
