Discussions Held on Budget, Cell Tower and Macclesfield Park

As a reminder, this column is written to inform you of local happenings. LMT-Yardley Democrats are not taking any positions on any of the discussed issues.

The Board of Supervisors (BOS) previously put $10 million of sewer sale profits into a trust. PNC is managing that trust
and they did a presentation on their investment strategies. The BOS approved listing an ordinance that would allow them to change how they purchased employee health care (no change in levels provided) which would save over $400k annually. This will partially address their current deficit situation. The budget meetings for next year will be starting soon and will be covered here. The 2023 Budget can be found here.

There are a few Zoning/Planning Commission pending issues, which have generated a lot of public comment. Here is a short update:

The Verizon Cell Tower Zoning
The appeal hearing has been moved to August 1st. The Board of Supervisors is retaining specialized counsel to advise them on this issue. Their regular counsel has a conflict.
